Amazon's standard price for Kindle-formatted ebooks is pretty reasonable at $9.99, and a lot of titles are even available for less. But then we've got the the Kindle's equivalent of the Apple's "I Am Rich" app: the breathtakingly expensive Nuclear Energies, available for a mere $6,232. Wait, what?
Today's dealzmodo roundup is coming at ya' with some big time deals on cellphones, gaming gear, computers, memory cameras and movies. If you want a little taste, how does a free Xbox 360 and LG Shine with a new 2-year contract from AT&T sound? Or a 15.4-inch Compaq laptop with 2GB of RAM for$298? Not bad...but there is plenty more where that came from.
We've been giving you tons of ways to salvage your well-used gadgets as we weather the financiapocalypse, but one thing you can't hack your way out of is needing a new battery for your laptop. Eventually, your battery will wear out to the point it won't even chug through a single YouPorn clip, and by that time (2-3 years), getting a new one direct from your laptopmaker will be obscenely expensive. What to do? Embrace the cheap third-party battery.
If you don't mind buying refurbished goods and you also don't mind those goods being last year's model, there are deals to be had in terms of the MacBook Air. Like the 1.6GHz model for $1,349, the 1.8GHz model for $1,499 and the model with the 64GB SSD for $1,799. Not bad prices, although still more than you'd pay for a brand new regular MacBook. But it's so skinny!!! [Famitsu via Crunchgear]
